Ford Territories (Fire1, 2 & 3)
Fire 1, 2 & 3 are first intervention rapid response vehicles based AWD Ford Territories. They are used to follow the field at the start of a race and to provide a rapid intervention capability at incidents on the track.
Crewed by four trained marshals, these vehicles are fitted with a 100 litre nitrogen pressurised Foam firefighting tank and live hose reel, and a variety of foam and dry chemical extinguishers and two full face respirators. Each Territory has the ability to carry a full set of Holmatro hydraulic rescue equipment and can be used to provide a stand-alone fire/rescue capability.
Holden Crewman (Fire4)
Initially used as a medical car, the Crewman was made available to the Squad to use as a fire vehicle thanks to generous assistance from Team Medical Australia
The Crewman is fitted with a 100 litre nitrogen pressurised Foam firefighting tank and live hose reel, and a variety of foam and dry chemical extinguishers, two full face respirators and a complete set of Holmatro hydraulic rescue equipment. This vehicle is used as a rapid response firefighting and rescue vehicle and can carry a crew of four.
VW Transporter (Fire5)
Based on a VW Transporter cab Chassis with a purpose built back designed and built by squad members, Fire 5 is our primary rescue vehicle.
This vehicle is fitted with a complete set of Holmatro hydraulic rescue equipment, casualty protection shields, side stabilisation equipment, cribbing and a range of hand tools and other equipment used to help release casualties trapped in a vehicle.
In addition to its rescue role this vehicle is fitted with a 200 litre firefighting water tank, live hose reel and a number of foam and dry chemical fire extinguishers.
